The Friends of the Washington and Old Dominion Trail (FOWOD) can exist only with the support of interested citizens. As a non-profit organization, your contributions to the FOWOD are tax-deductible. As you probably already know, the Friends of the Washington and Old Dominion Trail have been quite active over the past year. For example, we have:
- Organized a Trail Clean-up Day;
- Funded the placement of both "mutt mitt" stations and porta-johns along the Trail;
- Logged hundreds of hours of monitoring by our Trail Patrol;
- Celebrated National Public Lands Day with a "garden party" planting event in Falls Church;
- Recently had three areas along the Trail designated as Natural Wildlife Habitats by the National Wildlife Federation;
- Continued to lobby on behalf of the Trail with state and local officials. Look for the fruits of those labors soon with a user-activated signal at Church Road.
